This Fall

I am truly excited for the rest of this semester and all of the activities I will continue or will begin to be involved with over the next few months. First of all, Powerhouse (which is the name for Junior High worship at my church, Second Presbyterian Church, here in Bloomington-Normal) is starting up again along with my third year being an official leader for the worship and fellowship time on sunday nights. I get to help all the kids who are getting ready for high school (and trying to handle junior high drama) get ready for the next big stage in their faith journey, high school.Second of all, I get to be a mentor to one of the eighth-graders, whom I have considered to be the "younger brother I never had", for the confirmation class which all members-to-be in the church must take. In addition to that, I will probably be participating in childcare services for the preschool or nursery at Second Pres. I am also pumped because football is officially back and I am a HUGE Packer fan so I am glad to see them start out another potentially dominant season with a win. Football is almost half of my life so whenever it's fall I am almost always happy, unless we lose. It feels weird not being on the field for the first time in 4 years but I think I will be able to get used to it. Furthermore, I am even more happy because my classes are settling down and I am starting to get into a rhythm everyday between relaxing and my studies. However, now that Halo Reach came out, and Black Ops is on the way, that balance I had will almost surely shift more towards "relaxing". My brother is turning 21 tomorrow which should be awesome so I am looking forward to a great week and amazing first semester!

  1. I have been looking/trying to find a church up here to go to! That is so awesome that you are a mentor for that kid! I looked into a club up here similar to that!
